Kitchen Guide

What type of brie is best to use?

Use a soft, creamy brie with the rind trimmed for easy baking and optimal melting.

Can I make the tartlets ahead of time?

Assemble tartlets in advance and refrigerate. Bake just before serving for best texture.

What can I substitute for cranberry sauce?

Fig or apricot preserves make excellent alternatives, adding a different but complementary sweetness.

How do I prevent the pastry edges from browning too fast?

Brushing edges lightly with egg wash helps achieve a golden, evenly baked crust without burning.

Can I omit pistachios?

Yes, pistachios are optional and can be left out for a nut-free version without sacrificing flavor.
