Kitchen Guide

Can I substitute the ground beef with another protein?

Yes, ground turkey or plant-based crumbles can be used to create a lighter or vegetarian-friendly version without sacrificing flavor.

How can I make this dish spicier?

Adding 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or including a diced jalapeño with the vegetables will enhance the heat and depth of flavor.

What type of cheese works best for melting on top?

Shredded cheddar cheese melts perfectly, offering a rich and creamy topping, but feel free to try Monterey Jack or mozzarella for variations.

Is it necessary to drain the ground beef after cooking?

Draining excess fat helps reduce greasiness, but leaving some fat can add richness to the dish depending on preference.

Can this meal be cooked without a lid?

Using a lid allows the macaroni to cook evenly and absorb flavors fully; without it, cooking times may increase and texture might change.
