13 - 2 tbsp finely chopped chives

# Method:

01 - Prepare all spreads and fresh toppings. Lightly toast gluten-free bread and cut into uniform shapes matching cracker size.
02 - Arrange all ingredients within reach to facilitate smooth assembly.
03 - Place a cracker as the foundation. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or hummus evenly over it.
04 - Place a toasted bread piece on the cracker. Layer with guacamole, followed by cucumber and tomato slices.
05 - Alternate between crackers, bread, spreads, and toppings such as avocado, radish, roasted red peppers, and microgreens to build color and flavor contrast.
06 - Build up three to four layers, pressing gently for stability. Finish with a cracker or bread slice topped with cream cheese, microgreens, pumpkin seeds, chives, and black pepper.
07 - Carefully transfer the assembled tower(s) to serving plates using a wide spatula. Serve immediately to preserve texture.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It looks absolutely stunning on the plate, like you spent hours in the kitchen when it really took just 25 minutes
  • Everyone gets to eat the same beautiful thing, no matter their dietary restrictions—that's the magic of gluten-free done right
  • The textures and flavors keep changing with each bite, making it feel fancy without being fussy
02 -
  • Prep everything in advance, but assemble the towers no more than 15 minutes before serving. The longer it sits, the more moisture travels from the vegetables into the layers, making everything soft rather than textured.
  • Don't skip the gentle pressing between layers—it's not about crushing, it's about making sure each element has contact with the layer below so the whole thing doesn't slide apart when you transfer it.
03 -
  • Toast your bread on a low temperature and watch it carefully—the difference between lightly toasted and overdone happens in seconds
  • Keep your spreads at room temperature so they're soft enough to apply thinly and evenly without tearing the delicate bread
