  • Gold Drip
    • ½ cup (85 g) white chocolate chips
    • 2 tbsp heavy cream
    • Edible gold luster dust
    • 1-2 tsp vodka or clear lemon extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch (20 cm) cake pans with parchment paper.
2. Sift dry ingredients.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
3. Mix wet ingredients.
In another bowl, whisk oil, eggs, buttermilk, rosé, vanilla, and vinegar until smooth.
4. Combine and color batter.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Add food coloring to achieve a rosy-pink batter.
5. Bake the cake layers.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Cool the cakes.
Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on a wire rack.
7. Prepare the buttercream.
Beat butter on high until light and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing well between additions.
8. Flavor and finish buttercream.
Add rosé, vanilla, and salt. Beat for 2-3 minutes until fluffy. Adjust consistency with more wine or sugar as needed.
9. Assemble the cake.
Level cooled cakes if needed. Place one layer on a cake board and spread with buttercream. Repeat with remaining layers. Coat the outside with a thin layer (crumb coat). Chill for 20 minutes, then apply the final layer of buttercream.
10. Make the gold drip.
Melt white chocolate chips and cream together until smooth. Cool for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, mix gold luster dust with vodka/lemon extract to make a paint.
11. Apply gold drip.
Gently pour cooled white chocolate drip over the cake's edge, allowing it to drip down the sides. Once set, paint the drips with edible gold paint using a clean brush.
12. Decorate and finish.
Decorate with additional edible gold accents, rose petals, or berries if desired.

Zusatztipps für die Zubereitung

Use a dry or sparkling rosé for a subtle floral note that enhances the cake's flavor. Ensure the cakes are completely cool before decorating to prevent melting or sliding of the buttercream and gold drip. Prepare the cake a day ahead and refrigerate for easier assembly and a more pronounced flavor meld. Always use edible gold luster dust—avoid non-edible metallic powders for safety.

Varianten und Anpassungen

Adjust the rosé quantity in both the cake and buttercream to suit your taste preference or substitute with a non-alcoholic rosé syrup for an alcohol-free version. Experiment with natural pink coloring such as beet juice powder for a more natural tint. For a more decadent twist, add fresh berries between layers or incorporate a light cream cheese frosting variation while maintaining the rose wine essence.

Serviervorschläge

Serve this captivating pink velvet cake on an elegant cake stand to highlight its shimmering gold drip. Garnish with fresh rose petals or edible flowers to enhance its bridal shower charm. Accompany with sparkling rosé or a light floral tea to echo the cake's delicate wine notes and create a truly memorable celebration experience.
