01 -  In a large, deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until golden on all sides, about 5 minutes. 
 02 -  Sprinkle the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat evenly. 
 03 -  Stir in uncooked rice and chicken broth. Mix ingredients to ensure rice is evenly distributed. 
 04 -  Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover the skillet and let mixture simmer for 15 minutes, allowing rice to absorb liquid. 
 05 -  Fold in broccoli florets. Cover again and cook for additional 8 minutes, until vegetables are tender. 
 06 -  Remove skillet from heat. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over contents. Cover and let stand for 2 minutes, until cheese melts. 
 07 -  Stir gently to combine. Portion onto plates and serve hot.
