01 -  Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. 
 02 -  Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside. 
 03 -  Beat butter and granulated sugar together in a large bowl with a mixer on medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. 
 04 -  Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts until combined. 
 05 -  Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing only until blended. Do not overmix dough. 
 06 -  Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. 
 07 -  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed and edges begin to turn golden. 
 08 -  Cool cookies for 5 minutes on baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack. When slightly warm, generously dust with powdered sugar. 
 09 -  Decorate half the cookies with blue and silver sprinkles for Hanukkah and the rest with red and green sprinkles for Christmas. Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.
