# Method:

05 - Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix gently until combined. Pour in the milk, then add remaining dry ingredients, stirring just until incorporated.
06 - Gently fold in cherries and sliced almonds.
07 - Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth the surface and sprinkle with extra sliced almonds and coarse sugar if desired.
